Industry Growth Committee (IGC)

The Industry Growth Committee will provide the FDF and President’s Committee with strategic oversight over key areas that impact industry growth. These could be factors that are blocking growth or opportunities for the sector to drive growth. The workstreams will take a long-term approach but these may change overtime as new challenges and opportunities emerge.

Current priorities being discussed include:

  • Automation: improved efficiency and improves environmental impact.

  • Innovation: a significant driver of growth for both start-up businesses and within established brands.

  • Sector impact: help government and policy makers better understand the economic importance of the sector and the collective impact of their policies on sector growth.

Importantly, this committee will not duplicate work being taken forward in other committees, however, where these are important to industry growth the committee will monitor progress.

The committee chair is Sarah Arrowsmith, CEO of UK Grocery at Associated British Foods.
