FDF welcomes CO2 deal
01 February 2022
The Food and Drink Federation has hailed a new agreement reached between a major CO2 supplier and businesses in the UK to continue access to a sustainable supply and quashing fears of food shortages and price hikes.
Chief Scientific Officer at the Food and Drink Federation Kate Halliwell said:
"UK food and drink manufacturers welcome the deal that will ensure continuity of CO2 supply, keeping our supermarkets, pubs and restaurants fully stocked with our favourite food and drink.
"We will continue to work with the UK Government to boost our efforts to build resilience into the production of CO2 and protect our food and drink supply chain."
