Food Standards Agency publish webpage on UPF

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published a webpage for consumers on ultra-processed food (UPF). The webpage aims to inform consumers about UPFs and be a trusted source of information for consumers concerned about the issue. The webpage covers the following areas:

• What is a UPF, noting the SACN conclusion that more research is needed before any conclusions on whether UPFs cause poor health.
• The role of processing in food and advice for consumers – linking to the Eatwell Guide as government advice on eating a healthy balanced diet.
• The role of the FSA, including as the regulator for additives.
