Across 2022, they sought to help 'bridge the gap' between fibre intakes and the UK dietary recommendation through product innovation and renovation.
Six key innovations were launched across 2022, including the Birds Eye Veggie Power range and new Goodfella’s pizza variants. These innovations delivered 1,759,495 additional portions of fibre onto the nation’s plates.
Thirteen key renovations incorporating fibre increase were also launched across Birds Eye, Aunt Bessie’s and Goodfella’s. These renovated products added 113,375,366 portions of fibre onto the nation’s plates - an increase of 15,888,768 portions vs 2021. Additionally, all of these innovations and renovations were non-HFSS. (High in saturated fat, salt and sugar)
Total combined 2022 volume sales for these innovations and renovated products translated into more than 30 million products sold - meaning that tens of millions of consumers will have benefitted, therefore helping bridge the gap between the nation’s fibre intakes and the UK dietary recommendation.
