In order to meet apetitio’s rapidly growing Healthcare demand in 2023 they needed a significant shift in production capacity to make Carte Choix meals. Last year David managed the complete replacement of two production lines with state-of-the-art Mondini equipment, enabling expansion of meal offerings and to fulfil demand.

David is dedicated to driving forward change and innovation within apetito. As well as leading on replacement production lines – doubling operational capacity on a key product range and improving speed by over 6% and making savings of more than £50,000 - he is passionate about inspiring future generations of engineers.

In the words of apetito’s Head of Engineering, Phil Heeley, “David is someone who goes above and beyond in his role as Project Engineer blending his brilliant people skills with technical knowledge – it’s a rare combination.”

Supporting ‘young talent’ is very important to David. Alongside his day-to-day responsibilities, he plays an active and intensive part in our mentorship programme, where he mentors several graduate engineers. Inspiring them with his experience and wealth of knowledge, David encourages graduates to ‘think big’ and adopt an innovative approach when it comes to expanding areas across the business.
