Mondelĕz International – Menopause in the workplace
20 September 2024
Mondelēz International care about the health and wellbeing of their colleagues and believe all of us need to understand more about menopause to offer the right help and support. We recognise that menopause can affect us all, personally and professionally and want to help all colleagues to be at their best.
Topics
When learning that women of menopausal age make up the fastest growing demographic of the UK workforce, Mondelĕz International looked at their demographics. It was a clear area of opportunity: 45% of their UK workforce are women and 1 in 7 of between 45 and 55 years old.
They started a conversation in 2019 with a view to smashing stigma in the workplace. In 2023 they reached a key milestone and offer a wealth of resources for those experiencing and supporting others through the menopause. Recognising that they could not provide all the resources or expertise, they formed relationships with a menopause doctor to record a podcast and bring their super successful lunch and learns to life.
With over 4,100 participants, who are a mix of male and female employees, contractors and their partners, they have worked in collaboration with Henpicked, who are the leaders in Menopause at Work, to provide training for all British colleagues.
Their menopause steering committee provides colleagues with the resources and confidence to embrace menopause and smash stigma in the workplace. Since 2019 they have continually evolved their offering, based on feedback from the community. The model is now being adopted by their colleagues in the USA.
