On 30 July 2020, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) launched a UK-wide open consultation on “Building on the success of front-of-pack nutrition labelling in the UK” (FLL-075-20-A1). This sought views and evidence to help to inform any future improvements to the UK Government and Devolved Administration's recommended Front-ofPack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL). This 12-week consultation closed on 21 October 2020, and specifically sought views and evidence on the following three aspects:
• the UK’s recommended FOPNL scheme, the ‘multiple traffic light label’ (MTL);
• new international examples: the ‘Nutri-Score’ label and ‘Chile’s health warning label’;
• whether FOPNL should reflect the latest dietary advice on sugar and fibre.
