Food Law and Labelling (FLL)

The Food Law and Labelling Committee (FLL) covers food labelling and consumer information (e.g. origin declarations & nutrition information), nutrition and health claims, compositional standards and food law enforcement relevant to UK food and drink manufacturers. This includes legislative developments in the UK (as well as at EU and international level) on topics such as food standards, general food law enforcement, and marketing claims.

Committee purpose

  • Monitor regulatory developments and disseminate updates on food law, labelling and claims.
  • Work with the Government, Local Authority and other relevant stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, to influence food information policy.
  • Support members in interpreting and implementing legislation on food information to consumers.
