New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) focus on reducing reliance on live animal studies by leveraging alternatives such as in vitro (test tube) and in silico (computer-based) methods.
NAMs are increasingly being incorporated into regulatory guidelines by organisations like the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Traditional animal models sometimes fail to predict human outcomes due to species differences. NAMs aim to provide data that are more directly applicable to humans.
This webinar will give insights into the use of NAMs in the context of EU and UK food regulations.
